I paint compulsively, to lose myself in the process, to be soothed by the repeating patterns, to take refuge in the alternative worlds taking shape.

I started my artistic journey as an illustrator and textile print-maker. While working with People Tree, I got to explore various traditional textile printing techniques and the crafts of hand-embroidery and appliqué. I developed a great love for creating patterns which reflects in my paintings too.

My collaboration with Bindaas Collective (they do amazing work with the printer communities of Rajasthan) produced a deep interest in me for hand-block printing , natural dyeing processes and I fell in love with the essential Indian aesthetics.

Over many years I have done illustration works for various organisations. But I have always, really, loved making artworks for Nirantar ( they do pioneering work in the field of gender and education) and met some of the finest, brightest women who became my forever friends.
