The cool air was intensely scented. The night sky had barely a couple of stars as if the rest of them had fallen off, hanging on the twin Parijata trees before coming down to the ground.
A shy moon spray-painted the courtyard of Thakurani with a metallic shine.
( The scent of Parijata flower is believed to induce memories of past lives and incarnations.)
